Connection Energy

Yesterday the kids and I were walking across the cul de sac on our street and stopped to talk to a neighbor we did not know well. Come to find out, we had many common connections (plus they have a hidden backyard pool so we now have a new swimming hole!).

How do you feel when you connect with someone? Energized? Involved? Engaged? AgrIInstitute is an organization with a network that facilitates keeping connections and making new ones. Our upgraded and revamped website is an example of a tool you can use to link with others in agriculture. There’s never been a more important time for people in agriculture to unite and tell the story of our essential industry, and the AgrIInstitute network has a role to play.

What do you think – how can staying connected with others in the network help advance agriculture? I’d love to hear your voice, and know others would too.

  1. Beth Archer says:

The theme of connectivity is a common one for all of us, in fact to the extent that we often take it for granted or even discount the value. From birth we are Connected to our family and as we grow older we add the connectivity to our school friends. At a young age,we learned to play games like “Connect the Dots” and to hold hands in line so as not to get lost. At a young age we learn the power of connectivity. As adults we need to remember the importanct of staying connected. More often than not, graduates of the ALP acclaim the most important value of the program being the network they have with their class mates, with other ALP graduates, and with the tremendous network of the experts whom they meet with during the program seminars. Looking across the landscape of the industry, it is connections seeded during the ALP experience that have grown and nurtured the advancement of agriculture and in our rural communities. ALP builds trust and respect that enables strong leadership to occur.
