ALP Class 16 will travel to Panama and Colombia for their capstone study.   Their fourteen days of travel will include a week of study in Panama and a week of study in the  Colombian cities of Cali, Medellin and Bogota.  The study agenda will include extensive exploration into biodiversity work, tropical ecosystems and rain-forests, fishing industry, pineapple production, biofuel production, floral industry and many others.   The study will include a first hand look at the Panama Canal expansion and the impact this has on trade and global markets.   Meetings will be held with industry leaders, with government decision makers, and local influencers to better understand the agricultural industry. The group will be studying efforts that have transformed the rural economies in both countries. The time in both countries will provide an opportunity to learn about the political, economic, cultural and social landscape that makes these countries unique.   The ALP Class 16 members will be sharing a bit of Hoosier Hospitality during service projects that are planned for  a small portion of their time in Colombia.

We hope you will follow along as we share about our experience.   Check back often for pictures and stories of what we learn and experience.  We look forward to introducing Panama and Colombia to you.
